Mumbai, October 5, 2015: SBI Mutual Fund, one of India’s largest mutual fund houses, today announced the launch of a unique offering in SBI Equity Opportunities Fund – Series IV, a three-year close-ended diversified equity scheme. SBI EOF Series IV would aim to invest in a well-diversified portfolio of equity and equity related securities cutting across market capitalization and sectors that would benefit from the all-round growth of the Indian economy.

SBI EOF Series IV’s uniqueness emanates from the scheme’s objective to invest in companies that participate and benefit from the India growth story on the back of its strong macro-fundamentals and investment driven approach of central government. SBI EOF Series IV would thus invest in potential opportunities, arising from structural trends like home improvement, e-commerce, imports substitution & manufacturing exports, defense and education.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dharmendra Grover, Portfolio Manager, SBI Mutual Fund, who is the fund manager for the new scheme, said, “SBI EOF Series IV is an ideal investment solution as the new fund would invest in stocks that benefit from the structural trends in the Indian economy. On the back of slowing global economies, the India growth story has been a bright spot, and with potential to grow further, India presents an attractive opportunity for investors.”

“Improving macro-economic conditions in the country, stable pro-growth government and positive sentiments of the global & domestic companies are great enablers to help fulfill the fund investment objective,” Mr. Grover added.

The scheme shall have exposure to Equity and Equity related securities to the extent of minimum 80 per cent of the total assets with a maximum exposure of 100 per cent. The new scheme would have exposure to securitized Debt to the extent of 20% of the net assets and shall invest in debt and money market instruments which mature only on or before the date of the scheme allowing safety net for the value earned for the investors.
